Celebrating 20 years of SVA MFA Design. Five years ago the first SVA MFAD word mark was introduced. Nine simple, geometric letters arranged in a square, like products on a shelf. It worked like a stamp.
For their 20th anniversary, SVA MFA Design wanted a rebrand. We built a system that allows students to feature existing work instead of creating new work every time the school needs marketing and communication.
Philosophically, the new mark draws from the previous word mark while breaking MFAD out of the box. It has a certain flair that better captures the spirit of the program, while winking at Paul Rand’s invisible reach through the generations.
